Here we go!

First I have to apologise for the lack of blogging, sorry xx. We have finally managed to start planting up our plot. The weather over the past few weeks has improved although as I write this blog we have a very severe frost outside. Yesterday we had a few snow flurries but thankfully they didn’t amount to much. Hopefully the following pictures will give you an idea of why I haven’t been blogging. I have been enjoying life on the plot.

Over the past few weeks we have been growing from seed all of the crops which we would like to grow on our plot. It seems such a long time since I ordered our seeds and started chitting our potatoes (they are now poking through the soil).

Our broad beans and beetroot plants (under the green net) are doing well.

We have been unsure about putting paths around various crops, so we think a few carefully placed slabs will offer stepping stones to tend our crops. We have the traditional scaffold planks to stand on when planting. I would love to see what other people are using.

Bye for now, happy allotmenting

Sue xx

  1. 🌹Thank you for your lovely comments. It’s amazing at last to get growing on our plot. We are so thrilled to see things starting to emerge. Have you got enough room to grow a few veggies in pots or on a windowsill.🌷

  3. Yes, it is amazing how things grow inspite of the cold and other masters thrown at us recently.

Like you, I have occasional slabs to step on round my veggies etc. Sometimes, it must look like I am dancing in the garden 😉.
