With Autumn underway all our jobs on the allotment are slowing down. The summer fruiting raspberries have been pruned and next year’s fruiting branches have been tied to the supports. This weekend the last of the greenhouse tomatoes and cucumbers have been picked. The Virginia Creeper is turning the most wonderful rich red colour.
There is always something lovely about the colours in the garden at this time of year. The earthy smell of fallen leaves and crisp mornings are a joy.
The composting continues on the allotment, hubby has been great. He’s made it his mission to compost absolutely everything. What a fantastic job, thanks. I shall miss the buzz of busy people tending their plots as the winter weather arrives.
