I didn’t manage to have a day off yesterday from the allotment. I spent a good couple of hours last night cutting up apple branches that must have been cut last year. Today I’ve been removing rubbish from the shed and standing back to look at all the hard work that has been done over the last 3 days. At this point I would like to say a huge thank you to my son, and husband for their patience, support, and hard work.
Please check out my Allotment page, there are updates and more pictures.
Lovely sunny morning but unfortunately I have to catch up on boring jobs today. Shopping first, bits and pieces for the allotment. I think I’ve worked so hard clearing half of my new allotment that I deserve a little treat. I really won’t be able to stay away from the plot. Maybe I will pop for an hour later today.
Thank you to two new bloggers that have found me. “Allotmental” and “Bloom or bust”, they both have brilliant blogs and are a source of inspiration to me, thanks.
Work continues on our overgrown allotment! We have already filled 5 compost bins. I must be the only person in the UK that is enjoying the cool weather. Don’t think I could have cleared so many weeds if the sun had been shining. The body is starting to ache but it’s still lots of fun.
It’s a dull and grey day outside so I’m adding some colour by crocheting this morning. A few weeks ago I received my order of wool from the Wool Warehouse.
Amazing quality wool, soft, beautiful colours and great value. A pack put together by the Wool Warehouse called Cosy. This is the start of my mood blanket. Each day I crochet at least 6 granny squares, they reflect the mood I’m in that day. I should end up with a beautiful blanket that is truly personal to me.
I’ve only learnt to crochet this year but am totally bitten by the bug. Below are some of my recent projects. I wanted to add to my patchwork quilt by making a lovely summery crochet blanket and cushions.
So that’s week one of my blog, hope you are enjoying it. Bye for the moment. Have lovely weekend.
You may be wondering why I have decided to call my blog button bears. It’s because one of my hobbies is to design and hand stitch little bears. This started 19 years ago when I had my son. I made him his first bear and the hobby grew. Nowadays I experiment with different fabrics and materials.
What a beautiful day. Think I will spend some time in my garden today. I feel the need to find some peace and quiet and gardening is just the tonic. Problem is I get distracted by nature and spend time taking lots of photographs. Hope you enjoy some pictures of my garden.
